Therapeutic Massage Sessions:

In addition to relaxation, massage can effectively reduce or eliminate muscular pain associated with injury or other conditions. Massage therapy reduces amounts of stress hormones in the body, which can have positive impact on diabetes control and stressful or stress-related conditions. Listed below are some examples of how massage therapy is used for relief, or ongoing management.


  • headaches (including migraines)
  • neck and shoulder problems (including whiplash and rotator cuff problems)
  • upper and lower back pain
  • chronic postures (including constant desk sitting and computer work)
  • repetitive movement stress (from work, everyday activities, or sports)
  • sciatica and other hip pain
  • ankle sprain
  • plantar fasciitis (pain in the bottom of the foot, especially after waking or prolonged rest)
  • stress (including family, workplace, emotional, and bereavement)
  • pregnancy (typical physical changes from the growing baby[ies], emotional nurturing)
  • trigger points (muscular tender point, that refers sensation to another area of the body)
  • tennis and golfer's elbow
  • overstretched or tight muscles, due to activities or injury
  • Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and Thoracic Outlet Syndrome
  • Fibromyalgia
  • cancer treatment (often useful for medication side effects and emotional support)

Regular sessions are most effective. Depending on the person, condition or injury, "regular" may mean weekly, bi-weekly or monthly. Positive results of massage therapy have cumulative effects. Just as no one would train for a marathon in a weekend or two, massage is most effective when made a regular wellness routine. Research from the University of Miami's Touch Research Institute, also includes positive immune function results, in general, as well as with specific medical treatment. Massage is a versatile therapy that functions well independently for wellness and activity, as well as a complementary one to medical treatment.

Types of Massage Therapy: (may include one, and often a combination of the following)

Swedish, myofascial massage, deep tissue, trigger point, prenatal, postpartum, injury (including scar tissue), stretching, and workplace chair massage.
